Whew! Still with me?
My husband and I on Graduation Day!
Proud mom of 4 boys, the loves of my life!
So that is basically a quick trip to the present. But where it started? It began when I moved to Michigan almost 10 years ago and fell into the profession of CNA. I loved being a CNA. It is a challenging job and even now, as a nurse, I appreciate the down and dirty work a CNA goes through on a daily basis. I think of it as "the trenches". I worked as a CNA for many years, touched many lives and in return was touched by many lives. The memories I have from being a CNA are ones I will always cherish. Eventually, my body began to protest the hard work I was doing, the heavy lifting and the physical strain of it. Because of this, I decided to progress with my career and began nursing school.
I can proudly say that I now am a licensed Registered Nurse, in search of a job in said field. I worked as an LPN in an assisted living center throughout my last year of school, however that job has ended so I am now in the world of the unemployed. I live in a small town so jobs come and go in waves. I am patiently waiting out the ebb right now.
While I wait for this to pass, I occupy myself with sewing. I love sewing and creating things to sell. I have an Etsy shop at Northwoods Whimsy where I try to sell the things I make. Just like the nursing jobs around here, there is a huge ebb in sales right now. But that doesn't keep me from creating!
Have I bored you stiff yet? Hello? Are you still with me?
Good, because I really have lots of wisdom to share with you in the upcoming posts. I will try to share some wisdom to help you get through nursing school with a bit of sanity still intact. I will try to share a little of my life, a little of my pain and a little humor to get you through. If there is something you want to know, feel free to ask! I will answer any questions my new friends may have.
Until then, remember....
